India’s direct-to-consumer delivery ecosystem
Over the years India’s on-demand delivery ecosystem has developed vis a vis China or USA. There are who range of market participants - Neighbourhood kirana stores, Restaurants, Retail stores, etc. Current hyperlocal players such as Swiggy, Dunzo have shaped behaviour of consumer to become app-only, online first for getting essentials. Grocery/FMCG space hasn’t seen much innovation apart from bringing grocery ordering to online by the current players Grofers, Bigbasket. Consumers acceptance of ordering essentials online are evidently changing but the core consumer experience in terms of price, quality, availability, credit, timing & reliability in general from the existing services leaves a lot to be desired.
Future
The world is moving towards a phase where consumers will need reliability & delightful ordering experience over discounts and compromises. We believe the opportunity is massive and the industry has been ready for a while to be disrupted.
The Team
The team that we have assembled at Licily is the same team that was instrumental in building and growing Swiggy, Udaan, Reliance retail. Most of the talent has spent a significant amount of time solving B2C and B2B related problems. We believe that given the experience of our learning, we are best placed to go and create brilliant consumer experience for our users.
